Well... we went out and performed for the first time in public and I have to admit I thought it was a great success! We got a majority of the cast to go to the Tailgate series sponsored by the Flickinger Center and we sang during intermission. Most of the cast cast went around and pressed the flesh with the tailgaters to let them know about the show. It was a blast! The camera got passed around a bunch, so lots of great candids... check em out!
Well we have been working off our behinds! Set building for the show has almost turned into a full time job... we have been building, painting and sweating and sometimes not in that order. Most of what you see down at the bottom are the lockers for the show... we are trying to be creative by inserting the wildcat logo and paws. I think its shaping up. In addition, there are classrooms to be decorated and mini platforms to be built. Wish us luck... only two weeks to go! 
We are hitting the boards with more than just our feet! Now we have basketballs! Cami started "Getcha Head in the Game" and everyone is getting pumped! Full of energy, the number is sure not to miss with all the dedication the cast puts into it. In addition to dance we also began a run thru of Act II . We got the majority done, but.. we need to work a few areas. A casts job is never done. GO WILDCATS!
Practicing AGAIN!!! Today was another visit to the mall (we had a few spectators!) and we cleaned up some of the songs. On todays docket... Status Quo and Breaking Free. When things got a little cramped, the kids moved into the "hallway" (The mall, for those who have never seen the miniscule size of it). Patrons stopped and stared and took it all in! It was fun. We're getting closer and closer and everyone is starting to buzz a bit. Keep checking in... there will be more and more to see!
Howdy all! We had a busy morning today... we put up the billboards for the show! After a couple of false starts, we were able to hang them up all over town. (if your curious,,, Hwy 70, Indian Wells and First Street.) It was a group effort, Mike, Theresa, Robbie, Gracie and Corey helped and the many hands helped immensely!
Its the Fourth of July! WOOHOO! We we broke out the signs that the sign crew worked on so diligently and attached them to a flatbed and entered the Parade. We had a great time. We got there a little early to decorate (its been raining like crazy, so we didn't want to do it the night before) and covered the float with crepe paper and all sorts of patriotic stuff. When everything started we got to walk down tenth street and danced our feet off! The best part was dancing for the judges they really seemed to enjoy the show. GO TEAM WILDCATS!
Hey! Well again... its been crazy busy all up in the world of High School Musical. You could say i was a madman! I have been making the cast run dialogue, music and to an extent some of the dance moves. I find that I don't get to take many photos when Cami is not here so my shots are limited this time. Naomi seems to have fun with the camera during rehearsal (she has got all sorts of candids of her cast mates! Oh! also look at the guys in the video... they have been given a project that involves one of the final scenes of the show. Its their first foray into trying it out (I think it looks a little like the dance from "The Breakfast Club"), so stay tuned for more... they are looking to impress!
Wow... this week blew by so quickly! I was so busy with rehearsals and work, I forgot to post for the last couple of rehearsals. Here is a smorgasbord of pics to keep you in the know of what we have been doing this week. Scene work, music rehearsals, dance rehearsals; you name it, we have been all over it! GO TEAM WILDCATS!!
All righty... well we were in the Flickinger this Saturday, mostly to make sure that the dances conceived for the show were gonna fit the stage. In addition to that we worked "Status Quo" again and this time we got thru the whole thing. Its a pretty technical number, but as always the cast came thru it with flying colors. At one point, the ensemble breaks into cliques and rebels and a dance off ensues. The cast seems to be having quite a bit of fun with it. In addition, there is gonna be some good old fashioned slapstick when it comes to Sharpay's final moments of Act I, you'll have to come see it for yourself. : )
